Following the strategic agreement signed in Milan, the partnership between Muheet Oil Refining Company and Saipem has reached a significant operational milestone. From February 1st to February 4th, 2026, a joint technical delegation conducted a comprehensive four-day technical site visit to Ras Lanuf to advance the project’s feasibility phase.
This field mission represents a critical transition from theoretical planning to on-site engineering reality, ensuring that the project development is supported by accurate field data and on-site engineering validation.
Over the course of the four-day visit, experts from both companies worked in close coordination to evaluate the physical and logistical landscape of the site. The intensive schedule focused on several key pillars of the project’s development:
- Infrastructure & Logistics Assessment
- Geotechnical & Topographical Surveys Review
- Environmental & Safety Scoping
The collaboration between Muheet’s local project knowledge and Saipem’s global engineering expertise was evident throughout the four-day mission. This “boots on the ground” approach is essential for finalizing the technical configuration and economic modeling that will define the refinery’s success.

Moving Forward
The data collected during this visit is currently being processed by the engineering teams. This information will be instrumental in refining the project’s scope, ensuring that Muheet Oil Refining Co. delivers a facility that is efficient, sustainable, and a source of pride for the national energy sector.
